mud is all about wheelspin... 4LO is for crawling... 4HI is for blastin thru that nasty shizzzzle.... That could be why ur getting stuck.. try 4hi in 2 gear or so... keep the throttle consistant and if your start to lose momentum move your wheel back and forth.....

.... or stay on dry ground and learn about hill climbing, off camber situations and stuff like that, much funner and more of an adrenaline rush IMO when you have the chance of floppin ur rig

EDIT: Muddin is a redneck sport

4LO in second gear will stall it at WOT... it will bog it down til it stalls. Theres no way 1st in 4HI will work, let alone 2nd gear.

Lack of power is why im getting stuck i need a V8 to mud like i do.

BTW i already do hill and rock climbing with it, but i still like to play in the mud

But enough about my mudding.... CrazyRunner, HP is what you need

So then thinking lockers, i tried running it on the side with two tires on somewhat more solid ground and still got stuck:

My opinion and experience is that the trans crossmember is what is probably holding you up or at least slowing you down. I wheeled many times and it seems my crossmember gets stuck when I'am in deep mud or similar situations.

On my 87 4wd I had only BFG muds and I went through just a little less deeper than that and I got out of it. It was the 22r and I was winding it out pretty good and that is what kept me from getting stuck. Maybe it is your tires? I don't know but from what it looks like in the second pic, the crossmemeber is most likely dug into the mud. Is it?

Oh and to the original poster of this thread. I had both, the 22r and the 3.0. I can honestly say that the 22r seemed to have a little more power or maybe its because you can wind out a 22r more than you can the V6.

Not all mud is created equal.... some stuff you can drive though nearly up to the hood, other mud will get you stuck if it's 8" deep.

In the second pic im pushing a wall of mud, look right in front of the tire... and i agree, not all mud is created equal.. its not the depth, but the type of mud.
