How bad are lift blocks really???

I'm on a budget build up on my 85' Runner. I'm not really looking to make this rock ready any time soon I know that takes time, but with the things that need to get done, versus the money I have at the time, I was looking into running some All Pro front springs, and dropping some Bilstein 5150s on all coners, throwing a Detroit in the back, then running lift blocks to make up for the difference in the rear. I need to know how much is too much, and what would be things that I would need to look out for when running blocks?

Thanks in advance

first of all, even if you are on a budget, i wouldnt use lift blocks with stock springs. if you can weld, chevies are your best bet.

since you arent really trying to make it 100% rock ready just yet and you say you have 3" of lift already, i would wait and do some free things to increase flex and do the suspension later when you want to clear 35's.

first of all, remove the torque rod and swaybar. next use some long, thin AAL's in the front and either the chevies in the rear or a matching set of AAL's. if this doesnt give you enough to clear 33's do a 1" body lift and/or some trimming

I have enough to clear 33's already, I'm looking for 35 room now, I have to buy tires soon.
