Last year for solid axle???

I've been checking out the cruisers lately, was wondering what year they discontinued the front solid axle, and any common problems to look for when shopping? Were Lockers offered in any of the 'solid axle' years either?
Thanks

Whenever they went to the 100 series cruisers was when they went to IFS.

So, IFS on 100, and the FJCruiser.

Some of the 80's series came equipped with front and rear electric lockers. Shop around, you can find them for pretty good prices.

80 series (91-97) was the last LC/LX with solid fr/rr axle, also the only one offered with front/rear/center locking differentials (93-97). They still have a solid rear axle. (Info is for North America) Check www.ih8mud.com forums for Land Cruiser info, also check www.sleeoffroad.com tech section for a newbie guide for the 80 series.

Keep in mind that many 80 series had full time 4WD - depending on miles, you could be buying a well worn drivetrain.

All NA 80 series are full time 4wd. A birf job every 60-90k is a good idea.
