YotaJake805's 2wd Thread/Lift/Toy
Hey guys Brand New Yota owner here!
Got me a CLEAN 85 Yota 2wd Manual w/ 131k
I wanted a good base to start with and this thing looks like its FRESH off the lot in n out (I'll post more pix)
I just need advice on where to get a "complete" body lift. Or a decent suspension lift.
Looking for those who are rocking 30's or 31's. And what you had to do.
I can only find that cluttered bodylift page that I don't understand and a 3.5" fabtech. This is just my 1st lift.
Can't wait to start
UPDATE:
As promised, here are more pix of how I bought her. I will be honest, I overpayed alittle but out here in southern california, its hard to find a beauty that hasnt been abused or "autozoned out" :p
This am/fm radio is killing me though lol
Currently have 195/70/14 in the front 205/70/14 Rear

And simple AAL in rear.

30's will probably fit but they will rub. I ran 235/75-15 (29'') tires on my truck with bj spacers, cranked torsions, low profile bump stops, and lift shackles in the back and the front tires rubbed the inner fender/firewall pretty good especially hitting bumps while turning until I put on a 2'' bodylift and flattened the pinchweld. Ive read that with that body style its even worse because the fender wells are even smaller then the next gen trucks. So its probably going to take some work to get them to fit.
If it was me, I would look for some lift spindles and not even bother with the balljoint spacers and torsions. Used fabtech ones are few and far between but pop up on CL from time to time. Also check out race-dezert.com in the classifieds too. There is this fab shop http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/pts/4429852049.html that makes them but I have heard a few bad stories about there business practices.

Thanks for all the INFO!
Ya went ahead and slept on it. Turns out my coworker has a brother with his own shop. Said he would hook me up with a body lift to start and go from there. (he use to own the same style truck). So i'll get a 2-3" body on this baby and do the math for wheels. I will be doing other minor stuff as the year goes on. Will keep you all posted and any/all help is appreciated
