Sweet Trav's 1996 4Runner Build-Up Thread - courtesy of Beefed Taco

This is Travis' 96 4runner. He's here on the Yotatech forum. (Sweet Trav) Some of you may remember this truck as it's the one I did sliders and the rear bumper on. Now it's time for the front tube winch bumper. It won't be a huge gawdy mess with a billboard for a skid plate, it will flow nice and probably end up having 2 separate smaller sized skid plates with dimple die holes. Strong and tasteful is the plan. Enough said, here are some pics....

Did the weld on sliders a while back

Did the rear bolt - on wrap around bumper a while back

this fugliness needs to go bad!

fugliness gone!

time to make some solid mounting points, the tin foil has to go

sleeved this is for 1 bolt of many more to come

my caps with 1/2" threaded hole for grade 8 bolt

painted and moving onto more sleeving behind the body mounts

project 4runner is starting to take shape....before (sort of)

now...I'll post winch bumper build pics as I go.

Sorry for the delay but "B-FAB" moved into a bigger shop and that set us back a bit...but we're getting back on track! Suspenision arrived today, went with the "ultimate" package from toytec and added the 5150s. The winch plate and skidplate should arrive tuesday from budbuilt (bud is a SUPER nice guy!) and then we'll be working on finishing up the front winch tube bumper and installing the suspension.

ok, so today was a productive day. installed the toytec ultimate lift with diff drop and budbuilt skid. my fab guy was a HUGE help today and took time away from fabing up my front tube winch bumper to help me get the rear suspension taken care of...whoever designed the top mount for those shocks was not at all concerned with difficulty level during removal.
