Diesel swaps? 3rd gen swaps?
Hey guys,
Ive been wanting to pick up some SURF 3.0l diesel motors and ecus for swaps. I have a few 4runners now that I want to swap them into and sell them but have a couple questions:
1. I know its easier to do it with a 5spd - so thats what I will be doing
2. do the 5spd trannys bolt to the diesel motors?
3. besides new motor mounts, ecu, engine and fuel management, what other major things should I think of before starting a swap?
4. will the speedo and cluster be plug and play?
5. for you cali guys, will this smog easily or will i have to have a "special" smog done?

Also, If I started doing these swaps, How much interest is there? Im in San Diego.
Currently I have 3 - 1999 Toyota 4Runner 5spd 4x4 - two have the factory locker as well. If I did a diesel swap on one or two, what could I expect to sell it for?
