will 4th gen rear shocks fit 3rd gen??

Will shocks off the 03+ 4runners fit 3rd gen runners in the rear, and what should a stock length shock be in the rear for a stock hieght runner-01 model? Also anyone know if the stud off the newer runners is larger diameter than the 3rd gen runners? any help appreciated

That's funny.... I was thinking the same thing. If I needed to know in that much of a hurry and couldn't wait, I'd call the dealer or local parts store. But, I would think since they are on two different platforms...then no, they probably don't fit....

I don't think the question was a bad one. I'm running Tundra coils up front, 80-series Land Cruiser front coils in the rear and used to run the 80-series LC shocks in the rear. Completely different platforms but working well on my 4Runner.
