What is this vacuum hose for? Need help ASAP

Hey everyone,

I'm doing a throttle body cleaning and installing an intake. I need to know what this hose is for and what size it is. It is the small one next to the IAC hose plug on the factory intake pipe.

Thanks!

Nobody? I've looked at the hose diagram and the Toyota parts catalog and it's called either an air hose or bypass hose, but not what it's for. It's connected to some Denso brand box with a wire that runs on the passenger side of the block.

Might be helpful if you gave model, year and engine/tranny type to narrow down your application.

My apologies. It's a 1995 Tacoma, 2.7 3RZFE, Auto tranny. Thanks!

All those details were in my signature, just updated it so it's not showing in posts yet.

I run a 3rz in my 94 and im pretty sure the only hose going to the intake is the breather. I can double check though. My motor is the newer 2000-2004 motor though. Idk how different they are. I built the intake on my truck just to access the plugs easier. Took most of the emissions stuff out. Like I said the only hose I have going to the intake tube is the breather I think.

Thanks for the reply, I believe after 99 the IAC hose was relocated leaving just the breather as you said. If yulou could check though that would be much appreciated.

I ended up making the intake work by extending the mystery line and rerouting the IAC. It runs great.

Red face

It would have been great to see the whole hose

Much easier to tell what it if one sees where it goes at least for a dummy like me

Lol the picture in the original post basically shows it. That box in the top right corner labeled "Toyota" is the Denso brand box I was referencing. Its a very short hose. There are wires coming out of the box that run down the passenger side of the engine block and seem to be spliced into the harness for the IAC and MAF.
