Waxing windows

I did it once before with a creme wax. I did the inside and outside, and they came out super clean. On the outside it works like Rain-X.
Is it bad to do it though?
I noticed that the residue that is usually on the inside of my windows was almost none the time I tried it.

I've waxed my side and windows. Never had any problems with doing it. The water rolls off like I used Rain-X. Never tried it on the inside though.

I dont think its bad to do it.
I've been doing it for 12 years on my runner. it works great inside and out.
It also helps keep the windows from sticking as they are rolled down. You know, like they catch on the window felt or something.

You can also clay bar the outside of the windows to get a lot of the hard water spots and other crud off of them before you apply wax.

I always thought waxing windows would leave smudges but I'll give it a try with the next wash. What about the windshield and rear window, is it safe to do those too?

I did every window inside and out. I think it works better than glass cleaner, plus it leaves a nice smooth rain-X type finish

One of my neighbors finally came up and asked why I was waxing my windows too. I told him it works just as well as any window treatments, and added that they use it when they are doing some construction work in stores around here. He was questioning if it would scratch the window, and I said "That's why I am using this "wet" wax, goes on like warm butter"

One is waxing the windows on their minivan right now, and it's 93° out too.

I thought I was the only one who did this. Good to know I'm not.

When I clean my windows on the outside, I use soapy water and a one of those green scratch pads, you can't rub too hard, it cleans them well, takes all the heavy crud off and scratches, again, you can't rub too hard, after that I use the Rainex Windshield wax, It's a beautiful job! Crystal clear!

My .02 cents and advise!

No, I was just making a ha-ha. I believe you. I use it sometimes on the front bumper cause the buggies don't wanna come off the plastic as easy.

I usually do this after waxing my rig first. I just use the cloth that i buffed of the wax with and give it a wipedown with some of the wax grease on it . Never tried actually waxing the thing, gotta try next time now

Corey, I haven't checked but I can get one of these at the local auto parts chain right? I don't want to have to order it. I have had those durn hard spots on there and when I got the front windows tinted a few weeks back, the tinting schlepper guy used some sort of stuff that really got them spotless! but only those two windows. I gotta stop at pepboys tonight and look. I'm in an apartment for temporary during relocation so I am feeling all you guys pain with nowhere to do any heavy maintenance like my old garage! this stinks! I gotta do brakes and my clutch soon and it's looking like the apartment parking lot is going to be the place I do it. brakes won't be bad but I might get a few funny looks when I drop the tranny with a floor jack.

The good thing about wax is that it fills in those small scratches..! I use said wax or Rainex as mentioned!
