VCS and check engine light on?
My VCS and check engine light came on about a 10 days ago. I've done the forum search and think I now have an understanding about what it does, but since it seems to run fine, do I need to get it checked? Thanks for any suggestions.

If you're asking whether to get a Check Engine Light (CEL) checked out or not, you do not have an understanding of what it does.
Go to Autozone or Checker's and have the code pulled (they do it for free). I recently found that when the CEL comes on, the VSC and TRAC lights also come on. More than likely, it's your O2 sensor.

I wouldn't make any assumptions on the malfunction. It could be a bunch of things. Given that the actual mileage and vehicle specifics were not given. I can only imagine its a 4Runner since the specified year of Tacoma did not come with VSC or Trac. But the code could come up with anything from a faulty O2 sensor to a dirty MAF to a loose gas cap or a Bad TSPS to name a few...
