Valves tapping....
HellO. Yota tech!
My valves have started to tap..... Oil was a bit low, it was just above the lower indicator, no oil light on. So I added about a 1/2 quart. I have had the timing belt done recently..... Wondering what's going on? Any ideas, thoughts on what could be causing the tap?
Thanks for reading this

What motor is it and how long since the valves have been adjusted. If its been a while, It may not be a bad I dea to go in and re-adjust them. Really easy to do once you know how.

ok.... I have ZERO experience with the 5vz-fe... a 22re is super simple to adjust... the 3.4 however.... not positive, but I am fairly certain that is a whole nother story....

Is the sound new? Or just new to your ears?
The injectors are pretty loud and are easy to get mixed up with valve tapping. Put a stethoscope on the injectors and see if that is what you are hearing.
As long as the oil was on the dipstick that should not be the problem unless you were making high speed tight turns or heavy angles off-roading.
