transmission fluid question

where do you guys buy your transmission fluid? I've never bought any but i think i need some.

what kind should i look for? or should i just get whatever the guy tells me to get

Check your owners manual, it should list the type of trans fluid your ride needs. I would stick with one of the name brands of oil. It's not, IMHO, worth the few cents you save to go with Brand 'X'.

WalMart and Kmart carry brand name xmsn fluids. Why do you think you need some? I'd be sure before I'd go adding fluid. Like TechWrench said, check your owners manual for the fluid type but also on how to check the fluid level.

My owners manual (90 Runner) shows Dextron ll. I couldn't find it anywhere.It's been replaced by Dextron lll. FYI

the car won't go, it will barely move when i rev it to 3k rpm. i'm gonna try to put in some new transimission fluid before bringing it to a transmission place.
