tire sizing
I was just curious if anyone is running a 32x11.50x16 on their 3rd gen runner. I was looking at a swamper SSR in that size but it calls for a 10" wheel. Is it necessary to run it on a 10" wide wheel? I have 16x8's right now. I would go with the SSR in the 285/75/16, but they run large. It measures out a 33.9x11.4x16.

I know guys running 32X11.50's on 2nd Gens with 15X7" wheels. Unless it has something to do with the 16" wheel it should fit with your 8" wheel. Of course I could be totally wrong too.

yeah i've even seen guys running an 8" wheel with 33x12.50's. I imagine it would work, but I'm still curious why it calls for a 10" wheel. I wonder what kind of ill effects it would cause by running a smaller wheel?

I ran the 32X11.50 on a 10" Centerline. I am sure you could run it on a smaller rim. But I prefer wider, it pulls the tire out and doesn't look all squished up. The tread will probably wear flatter, or more even.

Yes, I had the pleasure of owning an 89 with a solid front. It wasn't a conversion though, it was actually an 89 body on a 79 frame. The front body mounts on the bed were a little off, but with a little fabrication, it all worked out. This truck was later lifted, with 36" superswampers on 10" Alcoas and a 350SB with 350 Turbo tranny.
Another cool thing-the 89 body was off a 2WD truck

I might just go with the 32x11.50 then in the SSR since they run big.

I think whoever told you that you need 8 or 10 inch wide wheels is just trying to get you to buy new wheels from them.
Is it some Interco chart that says this? That's the company trying to make extra profit for their retailers IMHO. 33x12.5s will fit on 16x8 wheels just like 32x11.5s fit on 16x7s and 31x10.5s fit on 6 inch wide wheels without problems.
Don't believe the hype and especially don't believe anyone that is paid on comission unless you have very substantial reasons to trust them. They just want your money and will try almost anything to get it including making a chart with inacurate information.
