tint removal?

I am wanting to take off the tint from my truck. It looks horrible, and I would like to get rid of the junk.
Anyone know how to take it off and make my windows look good again?

Thanks
Kent

my friend had to do it to his 95 gst due to a cop being very anal. it was 15 percent, yes illegal in nc, but you could easily read anything that was on the seat, even at night in a parking lot (for ex. he had a blockbuster movie sitting there, you could read the title).

anyways, simply he just heated up the windows with a blow dryer, and scraped it off with a razor blade. i will give him a call and get more details, but that was the general principle. the biggest thing he said about it though, was patience.

i cant even tell he ever had tint; its really not too hard, just have patience.

Use some soapy water in a spray bottle, a heat gun, and flat razor blade in a scraper... I've seen some commercial tint remover at Advance Auto, no idea how it works. Get some buddies, it takes forever.

I had a tint shop take it off and they charged me close to what it would cost to tint the car. This was on an old Accord. It took them a number of hours to take off 3 windows worth of tint but it looked great.

i have done many tint removals, what you want to do is get a spray bottle with soapy water, starting in a top corner reove the film, there will be lots of adhesive left behind, to fix that keep the window very wet and with a sharp razor blad remove the adhesive going up and down. use 1 to 2 blades a window to prevent scratching. if you have rear defroster lines you cant use a razor blade on that, if you want to know how to remove that just ask. a tint shop should charge 10 a window for removal or 100 for a whole car.
