is this a timing belt issue

1997 Toyota 4Runner SR5 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140,00 miles

sat for 4 days while we were out of town-
when i started it up today it made a couple of poping
noises.
I let it idle down /warmup - no popping, but maybe slightly rough idle

when I would accelerate in Reverse or Drive - it would make a series of pops again -runs a little rough

is this a timing belt issue or ?????

does it miss all the time? such as idling, cruising, etc...

if not and it is only when under a load then i would say its ignition related, spark plugs, plug wires......
