thinking of using a pathfinder gas tank on my 4 runner
I was thinking of using a 1995 nissan Pathfinder gas tank on my 4 runner. I gave it to a buddy of mine for his UNIMOG project but hasn't done anything with it and I don't know if he will since I think he is going to get a fuel cell.
Anyways the fuel pressure output is virually the same as the toyota fuel sender puts out.
I was thinking of using it on my 4 runner to make a high clearence tank since I have no rear spare under my 4 runner I saw a mod where someone cut the center brace and welded thier stock tank up there because they had a 3" Body-lift. I have a 1.4" bl and though the Pathfinder tank is a little longer but alot more skinner height wise. It looks like it should fit right up there if I had some hanger brackets welded up there. It doesn't look that hard to do just extending some fuel filler lines and fuel hard lines wiring and such. What do you think am I onto something good here? It would give you alot more belly clearence. The only thing that would be low is the crossmember that is easily fixed by getting a low profile bud built crossmember.
The only issue I can think of that might be a problem is it would be ass heavy with the tank right behind the rear coils.
