I want to lift my 1998 4runner around 3 inches. I dont want to spend an arm and leg to do so. Cornfed looks like a pretty good route as far as spacers go. I understand that I will need a differential drop kit to give relief to my CV joints. What kind of ride can I expect from the spacer lift? How is the longevity of this route as far as maintenance goes and future problems associated? Any other recomenedations? Thank you.

If yourl looking for something cheap, go for Revtec or something... I think its 3".

I personally would stick to 2" suspension lift and 1-2" body lift though.

Its pretty rough with 3" spacers.

I'm pretty sure fink's problem was that he had the longer coils to begin with, then with the 3" spacers, it was alot higher... Just to be on the safe side, stick to a 2.5" spacer with the diff drop... CV angles should be fine after.

Also check out ToyTec lifts. Their website is www.toyteclifts.com. An excellent alternative similar to Revtek and Cornfed and a little cheaper. Doug, the president is super nice and the customer service is excellent.

I have the 3" cornfeds up front and went through the same problems as fink, I have torn countless CV boots. The 3" was way too much for my cv's with the diff drop. It is fine now, but I have a winch and TJM up front bringing the front down a little bit.

I ran OME 881s, 2.5" cornfeds and 10mm trim packers for about 8 months and 15k miles and never tore a CV boot, but the ride was kinda stiff

I'm planning on running a 2" spacer lift and a 1" body lift to keep some of the stress off of the cv's. Just a thought, I cannot afford the OME/Tundra lift right now

you should be fine then, just make sure you do the dif drop....and start saving for front end problems that will crop up (cv's, whole difs, etc, et al, ad nauseum!)
