Bob, you can always do the economy snorkel mod like I did to my 4Runner when I had it.

Read Corey's post one more time...the pics were there, but not any more.

Corey, I remember seeing those pics. Although, I doubt any real gains in performance were achieved by making the scoop functional.

Yeah, but not tiny ones like the 4Runner's. To make it functional, you would need an IC and a scoop as big (or bigger) than an STi. Size definitely matters.

Oh, N/A engines need not apply. It won't do jack.

Lastly, I can't believe some of you are spending $300, 400 or more for a hood. Even if someone offered me a scooped hood for $100, there is no way I'd take it, unless my current hood was trashed.

ps unless you guys are going to murrderr it out. Dats aight, den. Pictcha meh rollin'...

Go to car-part.com and search for 2001 4runner hood. Then specify with scoop. Miller there is one in Georgia but it says it needs an hour of work its even black.

The scooped hood is a very popular upgrade even at the cost but opening up the scoop isn't going to make a diff except to make the top of the engine dirtier and a dirty motor doesn't run as well as a clean one.

It's just factory "rice" but it does look cool and doesn't hamper any other performance at the expense of looks so it's an ok "rice" mod.

I'm glad I already have one.
