Synthetic Oil

I had a really good link for this question, but now I can find it.
I originally found the link on Adam Fs website before it changed(the new site is really cool, by the way). It was about synthetic oils etc.
I have been using nothing but Toyota oil filters. I have been prompted to change to Mobil 1 due to better quality. I would also like to switch to synthetic oil due to the fact that my engine has 130K miles.
My questions is:
Since I have been doing a lot of 4wheelin' here lately, would the synthetic oil hold up as well as fossil under heavier engine load conditions?
Also, how do I get every last bit of fossil out of my engine if I am switching to synthetic without pulling the oil pan?

Thank you!

Haveblue, switching to synthetic should be no problem.
As far as getting out all of the old, I know Amsoil (the brand I use) has a can you stick in first before you drain the engine of dino oil.

It is suppose to loosen up the crud.
Also a lot of Toy dealerships now use the engine vac system for around $100.

They hook your engine up and run a solution through your crankcase and that gets everything out, including thick deposits.
Here is more info from my dealer's website.

The synthetic IMO should hold up better while off roading, and not break down as fast.
Mine stays clean looking for a real long time.
