Sweet I have the exact same noise it's really annoying, sounds terrible. I'll have to look into getting that fixed sooooon!

Couple questions. Will you have to get an alignment after having this done?

Will letting it go unfixed eventually lead to some sort of failure of a part? I would like to wait till I get stateside to fix this which is in about 3 months.

Looking forward to the write up. Thanks for taking the pics.f I woulda never figured that one out by myself!

I don't think so. I cranked up my torsion bars and replaced a tie rod end when I did the bearings, so I need one, but I don't think I would have without those changes.

From looking at the bushing I took out, I don't think a failure was imminent. It sounded like hell, but the part didn't look all that bad. I guess it could be hard on the CV joints and axle with it knocking around, but mine seemed fine. I'd say you could probably wait the 3 months. Hey, if you get stationed at Fairchild, I'll give you a hand.

Looking forward to the write up.
Corey posted the write up today. Take a look.

Glad I could help. If you decide to do it yourself, just make sure you have all of the tools required. Things went pretty smooth for me (especially after I'd finished the first side), but I had every tool I needed.

The cone washers on the hub would be difficult without the right tool. Also, removing and reinstalling the bearings could be a bitch without a slide hammer.

Anyway, thanks and good luck .

Thumbs up

Sweet! Great job. And using the press is the best way to put them in. I've done because I have had to with a BFH, but the press is the way to go.
