Unhappy Stripped Exh. Manifold stud

I found a exhaust leak coming from the #4 exhaust. So i go to replace the gasket and find that the stud stripped the threads in the head.
How should I go about fixing this? Helicoil? or can I get away with using JB weld?

Helicoil it. I wouldn't chance JB given those temps and the importance of a tight clamp on the gasket.

Helicoil it.Did my 22re 2wd truck and its pretty much a solid job done.Bought the Helicoil kit # 5543-10 size M10x1.25 and drill size 13/32.Had to use a air drill because of space problem by not removing head. Also a new exhaust gasket installed.

Helicoils are a method of repairing damaged/striped threads. If installed properly, they are generally stronger than the original threads, especially if you are talking about aluminum. I have used them for years, and swear by them.

If you are interested, here is the web site for the manufacturer, they have all sorts of good info on them.
