Stock suspension, biggest tires?
I have a 98 4R 2WD SR5 and need to climb high curbs at school to park on a regular basis. I have no lift or suspension upgrades(tight budget), with stock 225 75 R15 tires. Will 275 75 R15s fit?

might be able to go with some 30x9.5r15 tires.. im not sure if you have the same suspension as a 4wd in that year.. if you do then you could easily get 32.10r15 tires on there.. 10.5 maybe.. no wider

those are 2 inches wider and 3 inches bigger in diameter, maybe ... (28.3" to 31.25") ... but id lean towards no... but maybe someone will chime in that knows for sure.... if you do, remember that your speedo will be off by 10%
climbing curbs at school (HS?) why? what does everyone else do to park? surely there are other parking spots....
welcome to YotaTech... have fun, and spend a lot ot time reading through other threads/posts...
oh, and browse by vehicle in forums to find mods or frequently covered topics...
and use the search!

yeah 275 tires are too wide.. stick with 265 if you want the P rated ones.. 31x10s or 30x9.5s id go for imo. I think the 2wds did have some room for tire size improvement. but my 2wd came with 31s already on it due to the sport edition.. base model sr5s came with 225/75

I agree to stick with the 265's, or 10.5 in width, and around 31 in height. Its all you will need to climb your curbs but without the risk of wear on your front end/drivetrain. And yes your spedometer+odometer will then be off. And try not to climb curbs...stay in the designated parking area. When you go over the grass it gives environmentalists reason to close our beloved parking lots from mall-roading...haha j/k.

yeah, and future advice to look out for..
- be careful you don't hit yourself in the head with a tire-iron
- you're supposed to go slow off-road, physics and gravity will do the rest
- don't drive recklessly, especially around icy corners or bridges, in neighborhoods, or while "doing laps" around a school parking lot
- do not try to ride a 2-year olds bmx bike off the back of a ford .... you may get airlifted

hah, i read that, and just cracked up. i tried it on my old mountain bike, ended up landing on my face and spraining my wrist something fierce. i had two buddies there. one actually came over to see if i were ok before he laughed, while the other basically fell over laughing. i didn't get the airlift either....
edit: damniit im too stupid to use quotes...

Sounds like a P265 75 R15 are going to be as tall as practical. I go back to school on Tuesday(community college), and I'll send pics of the parking lot for the entertainment of all.

if you have the same suspension as a 4wd a 32x10.5 will fit with lots of room, i just did it on my 02 with a 2" body lift and i wish i had gone with 33's.
