SR5 Fog Lights

i'm planning on getting an OEM fog light this weekend. it'll set me back about $200. i want the factory look... the SR5 is pre-wired for the OEM so i'll just have to plug and play.

but i'm wondering if there are any other fog lights out there that can accomodate the factory fog light holes on the bumper?

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Besides the Hella OEMs you could get the PIAA's that STARNRG has (check my friends page for the link). Otherwise the Factory Stanleys are you best bet and can be found on EBay once in a while. The Hella OEMs have been reported by a few ODW members to get constantly water logged, Rotted and Rusted.

There have been numerous threads where people mention water getting into the Hella OEM projector lamps. I have not had any water enter my Stanley factory projector fog lamps for the three+ years I had the rig.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I blew a bulb in one of mine and I miss it so much
The difference is like night and day, and once I get the bulb replaced I would like to move onto a high wattage set up (ie PIAA or Catz or something) of some sort.

Just My $0.02,

Yes, it makes a big different. be sure to get the PIAA XTreme White. I have these and they are sweet. There are about 20 4Runners in my church, but every night when they see my rig, people keep looking and wonder ' what kind of lights do I have in my 4Runner because it's sure a lot brighter than the rest'.

It is nice to have brighter light, it makes other drivers wonder when they get home too.

Perfect timing for this issue to come up! I'm about to have my 10,000 mile service done and am planning on having them install the factory fog lights in my 2002 SR5. Is there a reason why I shouldn't have them installed??? They quoted me a price of $250.00 plus installation...

i'm planning on getting those micro PIAA fog lights or the HELLA micro DE fog lights. Not only does the fog lights make the road brighter when driving...it makes the front bumper look complete... i really don't like the plastic fascia...

i'll post some pictures soon as i get them... not sure which of the two i'll end up with.

1) Numerous people have said the dealer installed Hella DE's do not last long

2) Dont pay for installation on something so simple. The wiring is all there already. Just mount the lamps with the provided brackets, plug the lamp harness in, plug the relay in, and get a new factory stalk with integrated fog switch and...plug it in.

Maybe I am an exception to the rule, but I have had no problems thus far with my Hella Micro DEs. I have replaced one bulb in two years.

I got mine from PP and don't use factory wiring.

Your mileage may vary...

doesn't the Hella Micro DE come with its own switch? is there a relay or plug in near the driver side dash area? or do i have to replace the whole arm for the light switch?

installation doesn't seem too difficult as u said... the wires are all there... i'm just hoping there's something at the other end inside my car for the switch.

Yes it does come with a switch. But you then have to run a few wires, no big deal. Alot of people have used the replacement stalk, for a plug n play install and a nice factory look.
