Does it have instructions? It is really easy to install, the instructions will walk you through the process.

He had asked me to do it for him but I don't live in Boston right now so I told him to post and that other people from the Boston area would help get him hooked up. I suggested even to maybe have him do a wrench-a-thon so that he could learn while other came over and helped out. Anyway hopefully the great people of Yotatech will come thru for him.....that is just such a shame to have a S/C just sitting there not being used.

I am happy to help you guys from a distance as best I can if you get stuck on something.

I would definately do the plugs and a boost gage would be helpful for diagnosing any problems that might arise after the install. You should also be aware that some people have had no problems with "pinging" after the S/C install while others have had to install some other items to get rid of the ping. Best thing you can do is to read up on Gadget's site so you know exactly what you are getting into when you do the install or even have it done somewhere.

http://www.gadgetonline.com/Super.htm

If you do get the pinging, you can install the TRD 7th injector or this kit:

I recommend that you do the spark plugs, tranny cooler, TRD thermostat and your other drive belts while you are in there.

I did mine one at a time and it would have been easier if I had done it all in one shot.

does doing it all at once make it harder to pinpoint whats wrong if something is, in fact, going wrong?

The items Travis was talking about won't affect performance at all.
He just meant they'd be easier to do with the engine torn down.

Thanks Jamie for clarifying that for me!

I am running Denso 5062's. I ordered them from www.sparkplugs.com, but you can also get them from Gadget www.urdusa.com

I bought my thermostat off of Ebay last year. I think they discontinued it...
I think Gadget sells a 170 degree thermostat.

I bought my TRD tranny cooler from www.toyotaparts4u.com, it was on sale when I got it in Feb 2002. I am not sure how good their prices are now. Many people get the Hayden cooler, its about 1/2 the price of the TRD one.

Never ran those. I ran NGK BCPR-7ET's before the Denso's. They were good plugs, but they are around $3 more a plug than the Denso's.

Looks like the BKR6EKPB-11's are approx $11 each, that's pretty expensive. You can get Iridium plugs (Denso IK22) for that price!

For give my ignorance on this, but don't you have to run a cooler spark plug when you run a S/C? That's what I have to do for my Burb.
Or are the plugs you named 1 step cooler?
