Sliders! (woohoo) Need to weld
UPS delivered a pair of Stubbs sliders last night
I am now looking for a shop to weld these on for me. So far the going rate for labor seems to be ~$75/hr, est. time 2 hrs.
For those in the Seattle/Redmond area, do you know of any shops that do decent welds for a decent price? Or if any members of this board can do a good weld, I would be more than happy to give the proceeds to a fellow Yotatecher!

Here are some basics and frame welding tips. http://home.4x4wire.com/deddleman/section_welders.html Make sure they don't weld in the shaded areas.

Speaking of welding on sliders mine should be out of the powder coat shop next week. I rattle canned em and just moving them around the shop they got beat up so I can only imagine what they would have done on the truck so for $75 they'll be bulletproof hopefully. Can't wait to get them welded on I'm tired of standing in my doorframe to get to my rack and wash the roof.

As far as rattle can paint I've had good luck with Dupli-Color Truck Bed Coating (about $6.50/rattle can at Walwart or Autozone) it was fairly flat so I top coated it with SEM Chip Guard in satin black. The SEM Chip Guard also comes in clear but I had a problem with the clear turning milky as it went on. No problem though with the black. The SEM product is a specialty auto paint for rocker panels and high abrasion areas on cars. It is about $12 for a can and you can find it at auto painting supply stores. It has a slight texture to it but not nearly as much as the Truck Bed coating. Practice first on some scrap metal to make sure you can get to look you want. I practiced on my skid plate first as it needed painting anyway. My skid plate now has about a 1/8 inch coating on it. Here is my bumper I painted http://community.webshots.com/photo/...87536658rVHJHT

Corey,
Yes, getting it ready for some fun trails. Should be less worry going through the gnarly stuff.
Spring run sounds good, but what about summer, fall and winter?
