S/C 96 suddenly stalled after race
I just got my 96 S/C 4runner limited. After taking my bud for a quick show off ride, the engine stalled and died at the stop light. From a slow roll I floored the car till about 70 mph, next thing I knew it the engine had died. I've only had the car 2 days, but it seems to run great. What's the problem here? Please Help!!!

Do you know if the previous owner installed larger injectors with no controller? OR, is there a controller like an Apex'i S-AFC? If the S-AFC isn't set correctly, it'll cause the engine to cut out on WOT or 0 throttle after a hard acceleration.
Did you get a "Check Engine" light? If so, take it to Auto Zone and have them run a diagnostic. It's free.
If possible, hook up an air/fuel ratio meter. The engine might have died do to too lean/rich mixture.
You might also check the condition of the spark plugs and wires. My other car is particularly sensitive to those at idle.
Hope that helps!

My buddy told me it was because I slammed on the brakes and came to a complete stop too abruptly. He claims it is common for superchargers to stall like this. Is he full of crap or what?
P.S. No air fuel controllers either. I drove it today and it ran fine. Didn't stall or anything.

The number one cause of stalling with Toyotas is a dirty throttle body. You should clean it.

my truck stalled when i was going down the road, it turned out to be that the 15A EFI fuse blew-- i guess the current consumption from both the ECU and the SAFC increases when your racing, i replaced it and it ran fine ever since.
