Right or wrong muffler?

Right or wrong muffler?
After spending quite a bit of time reading all the forums re: mufflers, I decided on a flowmaster 50 delta for my 2001 SR5. It sounds terrific BUT it's a little loud inside. There's the 1800 rpm drone and that's doable but at certain speeds the volume can be a little overwhelming. After the FM 50 was put on I found out that there was an FM 50 SUV that's supposed to be quieter on the inside. Does anyone have a flowmaster 50 SUV? And how is the internal noise? I'll admit the FM 50 delta is really quiet most of the time but at certain acceleration rates it can drown out a loud stereo. Maybe it will grow on me or mellow after a few hundred miles cause I'd rather not spend another $160 to change it. And I don't think the SUV model comes in stainless.

A resonator is an idea, except it would cost almost as much as changing the muffler. How long does it usually take for a new muffler to "burn in" so to speak? Or is that just with the older fiberglass filled?

As much as I hate to I'll probably end up having it pulled and putting in a flowmaster 60 or dynomax super turbo. I guess I should have investigated noise levels a little further. If it was just a tad quieter on the inside I'd have no problem. Cripes, ordering the right computer hardware is a breeze compared to auto parts.
