removing stock fan

does anyone have any tricks to removing the stock fan on a 99 (or any year) 4Runner? what's the easiest way? i have metric box end wrenches, but i can't get the nuts loose.

No real trick, just undo the nuts, they shouldn't be that tight for that small size. Maybe spray them with WD40 first. Also keep the fan belt tight, that keeps the pulley from turning.
