Hello all! Can anyone tell me where the best place to get Aisin hub rebuild kits is?? I'm rebuilding mine, and it's going great, except....... whoever tore them down last lost a gasket. That aint so bad, 'cept they loaded the end cap (lock/free) with silicone. Yeah, I know So, I need gaskets. The rubber "O" rings are "rough" too. Might as well replace those while I'm at it.
Any help? Thanks in advance. I owe everyone one of these Just..... not all at the same time.

Hello 1Runner.
On my website in my mods area are my Aisin hubs.
I have some links too how to tear them down, and regrease them again.

That is basicaly what a rebuild is.
Look for the article I have linked by Joe from Outdoor Wire.

I also have the gasket part #s on my page there too, but not the o rings.
You'd have to call Toyota on that.

Oh, I'll take a Henry's root beer too.

I noticed Joe's part # for gasket that goes between the hub and the rotor ends with 20, while mine ends with 10:
My # 43422-60010 FR Axle outer hub

That is weird.
Took my # right off of my sales invoice.
Probably very similiar.

There's a gasket between the hub and the rotor? Mine didn't come with any. Looks like I'll be taking another trip to the dealer. Great pic - mine look like that right now...

Do you have a part number for the cap bolts too while you're at it?

I think the beginning of the part number corresponds with the actual part, and the rest of the numbers are year/model specific. Maybe the ones I posted were for a solid axle (or vice versa) and your are for IFS. But those parts are interchangeable. I could be wrong though.

Cebby, they should have the part #s at the dealer on the screen they look the stuff up at.
Probably get it cheaper at a bolt supply place, but then you gotta know the thread count, size, ect, unless someone has one laying around with a generic # on it for you.

I am willing to bet Roger Brown knows the part #, and has it memorized.

That's sort'a correct. The first part describes the type of part and the last part specifies exactly what part such as wether the spiffy rotary e-locker switch is one position or two.

It's listed as a substitute... the cap gasket's 60020 counterpart is for the auto hubs so...

No kidding, only way to get it from the stealer is to buy a whole cap assembly which is $$$$$$$$$$ Good luck finding them elsewhere.

I tore my hubs down yesterday and found the little ball. But I did not see a spring. Where is it, and would it just fall out or would I have to take it out somehow? I hope I diddn' loose that thing.

I lost one ball-bearing and searched hi and low.

Eventually found one at a bike shop. Perfect and free!

You probably didn't lose it. Hopefully the grease is holding it in the Dial cap. Look inside the hole in the side of the dial for the spring. It may be embedded. A twist-tie pushed into the centre of the spring will help pull it out.

Adam, I used a tooth pick to remove the spring. They are held in there pretty good by the grease... good thing too. I cant imagine how you'd ever get those things loaded in the cap otherwise.
HEY!!! Any of you married types getting dirty looks from the wife? I tore down my hubs on the kitchen table, (better light) and she GLARED at me all night?
I had a drop cloth....

I had my heater cranking (15 deg.last night here) and worked on mine in the garage.

On mine, the big spring inside the hub (#8 in Adam's pic) is a little corroded. I managed to strip most of the corrosion, but the spring isn't a consistent thickness where the corrosion was (it is thinner there, metal eaten away by ?). There is no fear of it breaking cause it isn't THAT bad, but should I replace these? It still has sufficient power to push the innards like it should since it was working before I tore into it.

You can see the white Cornel dish in the upper right.
Find something right away to put the spring and bearing into.
It is easy to lose.

Cebby, I don't know about the spring. Maybe see what a Toy tech thinks if you swing it by a dealer.

I wonder if you can buy it seperatly if needed?
It would not be cheap though.
Aisin hubs brand new are over $500 a pair I beleive, or close to it.

I don't believe so, none of the springs are in the parts catalog anywhere.

Got the gasket for between the hub and rotor. Got 2 including tax = $1.35. They didn't stock the bolts. I'm going to wire wheel them to a shine.
