Power antennae problems...

IT went up, but not down. I pulled out the mast and the teeth seem okay(none are broken). The end doesn't seem broken either. When I put it back in, it retracts fine. When turning on the radio again, it goes up half way and the motor just goes on for a while but the antennae doesn't budge. Does anyone know if the teeth on the mast are supposed to face forward or back? Also, the mast looks a little bent at one point, but not too bad. There was a lot of black grease/sludge. Could this be why? Any suggestions?-thanks

p.s.-I don't want to replace it with a whip. I like having it be able to fully retract.

Happend to me too.

I just bought a new mast from toyota. It hink it was 40 bucks.

Your mast is just bent and thats probably why its not working correctly.

The teeth face FORWARD, as it pointing towards your headlights.

I spent a good 30-40 minutes disassembiling my motor to make sure nothing was caught down there. Nothing was...If your antenna is going down all the way, there isint anything in there.

Id try getting a new antenna before getting pissed off about it!
