Hello, So here's my problem, I just bought the 99 4runner sport, the key won't unlock the doors, it works in the ing. and in the rear gate, but not the doors, I went to my local dealer and found out that the truck came with the keyless remote entry, so I bought a remote for this vehicle of eBay and then try to program it,,,,,,,,,,,but my door lock switch will not work unless the key is in and turned to the on position, so therefore making it pretty difficult to program the remote, I took the door panel of to see if I could find a short someplace and found none,, BUT I did notice that my door lock cylinder has three wires going to it,, so next question,, do I need a transponder key to open the doors, I can think of no other reason for wires going to the lock cylinder............. sometimes it might be nice to check things out a little better before I buy it.. but for a 99 sport 4x4 in reasonable condition, meaning a few electrical problems besides the ones above, I still think it was a good deal for $8500.00 with 110k

for some reason, both locks don't work with the key, there are wires going to the lock cylinders, maby I have a power problem with the interior lock buttons only working with the key on,,
