Part swap over

I have the 2nd gen runner, and have noticed that there are not all that many things made for it comparativly in Different Magazines. I just got the performance products catalog and was flipping through and noticed that things like bumpers, "well the cool usefull ones at least" are not made for it. I noticed that the Yota truck of the same model years does have a lot of the stuff. Just wondering can the, say the SmittyBilt Dual Tube Rear bumper w/ Towing Reciever that fits the 79 to 95 truck fit my 91 runner?
I am a sheet metal guy and can have it modified from it original state to make it work on a Corola, but i am just curious on how much the 91 truck and my 91 runner are different. And so on for other model years matching in case anybody knows and anyone else is wondering.

Other than the front suspension, drivetrain and perhaps the windshield and some interior pieces, they are entirely different animals. This is not true with the first gen 4Runners and 2nd gen pickups, they share a lot of parts.

How about the frame? Differnet animal too then?

Because of the different rear suspensions, there are significant differences in the frame. The body mounts are all different as well.

chris if you buy a "bling bling" smittybuilt bumper i will never forgive you I'm almost 100% sure those things are made of aluminum. Bump it against a tree one good time and there goes your bumper. I had the smitty built side steps and bent them all to hell the first time they hit anything on the trails. If you want some real bumper ideas gimme a holler. Ohh, and btw cliff did a great job welding in my engine mounts. You should come by sometime

Never said I wanted to buy any thing, Just curious about the compatiability is all. I plan on fabing all my own accesories, Unless I find something that is practical, well priced, and built worth a damn. There are very few things I would buy out of performance, just for the fact that they are mostly "bling bling" items. My runner isnt going that way. No offence intended to any rich kids out there who do the first 10 things to do their trucks to look like everybody elses. Make em like the Panthers, Look great on paper, do well, bust still suck.
I saw you had your truck somewhat back togather, full on now? Gimmie a call. Been workin nights,so out of the loop right now.
