Oil pump question
On a 93 22re can you just replace the seal or do you have to replace the whole oil pump? Who makes the seal if you can just get the seal?
Also I noticed little arrows on the 2 gears/sprockets do they need to be installed a certain way?

I just replaced mine. it is possible to just buy the seal, but i was quoted 28 dollars for one, and trust me when i say, its a pain in the ass to even pull the seal out propperly. i looked on ebay for an oil pump http://www.partsdinosaur.com/ has one for a 22re with tax and shipping (3 day shipping) it came out to 57 dollars.
took about 5 days...but i did get it, and it was all greased up when i got it. it included the seal, gasket, and a spline for the harmonic balancer (but i just reused my old one, cause it was fine)
Just replace the whole thing. dont risk buying the gasket, and having it worn out.
and as for the arrows, ignore them. they dont matter. if you look at the inside of the pump, when you turn the gears, the arrows come out of alingment after just 1 rotation.
