new yota: 97 ext cab tacoma 4cyl 5speed running sluggish

I just sold my gas guzzling fullsie and got me another toyota

Its a 97 ext cab tacoma 4cyl 5speed 4x4 chasis has 208k and the motor has 90k on it.Truck has a 3 inch fabtech suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift.Rides ok for what it is pretty stiff but i dont think it can be any better. Is sitting on 33x12.50x20 nitto mud grapplers not my favorite tire by any means and you can deff tell the tires weighs a ton.

Anyway on the way home riding down the interstate in 5th gear i was running about 2k rpms didnt sound sluggish?but when i came to hills the truck would do this little hickup thing.Like its jerks you ro somthing idk very hard to explain but the rpms wouldnt drop and it only does it on hills.

The check engine light is on but he told me it was the 02 sensor(could this be the problem?)Im gonna get the code pulled tomorrow to make sure thats what it is.

The exuast is flowmaster with no cat and im not a fan of its tone at all(came from a true dual flow 40s on a v8 the v4 sounds way different)im looking to take this off and get a normal sounding exuahst.any suggestions?

Also I need some new rear shocks but cant find any for a 3 inch lift help me please!!!!

Well the main problem is the jerking, hiccup type deal thing,I need some suggestions of to what can be causing it to do this.

We don't know if it's the 02 sensor without knowing the code.

It could be a bad throttle position sensor, bad ground in the electrical system, clogged fuel filter, a misfire (plugs/wires/injector).......... See where I'm going ?

Get the code pulled. Rather, buy a code puller and do it yourself. Then we can go from there.

x2 on the misfire. My recently did the same thing under load, e.g. going up hill. Turned out to be fouled plugs.

When i bought my 4Runner it did the same thing, change the plugs, wires and fix the 02 sensor and i guarantee (99% guarantee) the problem will disappear. Change the oil too!
