Nice looking 4runner. I like the white with Chrome rims. What is the backspace on the new rims? No rubbing?

Sweet looking 4 runner and damn good flex for IFS. Looks 100% better without the running boards.

The backspace is 4.5" and I have no problems clearing the a-arms, although the front required a little trimming on the valence and the plastic fender trim and the back tires rub when flexed a lot.

I'm really liking the Taco wheels painted gunmetal, that might be a good project when Fall gets here.

I actually found a powder coating place near me that will do that to mine for $30 each, including sand blasting, that is what i am going to do when i get the $$$.

Looks just as good as new wheels but are a lot cheaper.

If you don't mind me asking, where is this place located? I live in Allen, about 30 minutes north of Dallas. Powdercoating would be much better!

I am pretty sure that is the place, it has been awhile since i called. I know it was some kind of hot rod shop.

If it is not that place then it is another one on that page.

Thanks, I will check it out! Hell, anything close to $30 a wheel would be awesome.

Just wanted to do an update on the gas mileage...

After doing some mixed city/highway driving and doing a 3,000 mile road trip, here is what a got...

Lowest fuel economy on a mixed tank was 16.1 MPG. Please note that this is without adjusting for the larger tires, so mileage is actually better than that.

Best fuel economy (mostly highway) was 19.7 MPG.

On my roadtrip I figured that I went about an extra 20-25 miles per tank than my odometer registered (at highway speeds I'm about 5 mph over what the speedo reads) and so you can add 1-2 MPG to those numbers for the actual gas mileage.

I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. Mods I have that could affect that are: deckplate, isr, true-flow filter, Magnaflow exhaust, and I also put in new plugs, wires, cleaned the MAF and throttle body recently.

Not bad MPG and after driving a little bit now, is the power loss noticeable?

Honestly, it's hard to say because now I'm used to it. So if there was any power loss, it isn't bad enough for me to really care just driving around town. I'm no grandpa driver, but I'm also not always pedal to the medal. But if I need to beat someone off the line at a light or speed up to merge, etc... I can. Anyway, still won't say that my 4Runner is or ever was "fast". Although it holds it's own against other SUVs. I did beat my friends 4-banger accord once, which was surprising...

Anyway, it really isn't that bad. But I was running 32's before so it wasn't a HUGE jump.
