New Dyno Numbers & Track Times

Haven't been on the forum for a while.
If you guys are interested I took the truck back to the Dyno on 6/15:

287.1 RWHP @ 330.6 ft lbs of torque.

Also went to the drag strip the same day:

14.24 @ 93.71 mph with a 1.98 60' time.

I know you guys aren't much into this but just thought I'd share.

Dyno sheet and timeslip are in the webshots link in my sig if you want to look at them.

Dave

Locker was engaged. Had drag radials on the rear with same size street tires on the front. Launched in 4HI and switched to 2HI between 1st and 2nd shift.

Hey Dave, where'd you find the 12 new horses? (or did you do this with the 2.2" pulley and thus found 20 more horses?)

02-18-2005, 07:24 PM
Dyno with 2.0" pulley: 275.1 RWHP @ 313.7 ft lbs of torque
Dyno with 2.2" pulley: 267.2 RWHP @ 290.2 ft lbs of torque

Basically running what is in my sig except:
2.0 pulley @ 11psi boost (I run the 2.2 @ 9.5 on the street)
IK20 plugs gapped @ .043
Airaid MIT
50/50 water/methanol with a .9mm nozzle in the Aquamist
Exhaust is not environmentally friendly with 2 Magnaflows inline (flame away!)
coolant bypass on the throttle body
momentary push button speed unlimiter for dyno runs
AFR is 12.0 flat from 3500rpm to redline
URD AIC tuned by Brian Trager from URD
96 octane unleaded fuel with no additives (91 on the street with no ping)
Nothing has been done to the internals of the engine at all

How tight did John do the valve body? (1-10, with 10 being "whiplash") Are your breaking the tires loose at the 1st->2nd shift?

I'd love to see video of your strip runs.

I found out that the fuel (110 octane) I was running for the 275HP run burned too slow. After doing a little experimenting, I found the 96 octane to be best. So the changes in the 2 runs were the fuel and the water injection system tweaks (going to 50/50 mix and going from .8mm nozzle to .9mm)

I had John do the "moderate" upgrade. On the street cruzin, you can definitely tell it's modified but acceptable. At WOT---it's whiplash! With the drag radials and the locker engaged it breaks them loose going to second but barely. Before the drag tires and learning to launch in 4HI, it smoked them all the way through first and way too far into second. Before I was running 2.2/2.3 60' times but now I'm down to 1.9. I thought a 14.24 for a V6 automatic 4X4 with only "bolt ons" was acceptable. I smoked one of those new Dodge 345 HP Hemi Rumble Bees pretty badly and the guy was upset he got beat so bad by a V6 Toyota and a gray headed old fart.

Awesome times. On pump gas you probably have a chance at staying with a V6 Altima or something

I'm trying to figure out how you're getting 80hp more than I am (re: the older 2.2" pulley numbers). I figure the AquaMist is about 20 (30?) of that, but holy cow!

I have been thinking about this one. Did you have any idle problems after it? I hear idle problems can develop after doing this mod, but only on some engines.

Great times and numbers by the way!

Are you still running the stock stall on your torque converter?

Man,seeing that makes me miss the strip and my '93 Eclipse. I appreciate somebody doing different and I'm sure you draw a crowd to watch it run.
