mounted my 35's (Added Pix 4/7/06)
I really dig these MT/R's. They feel really soft on the pavement. Haven't tried them on any mud/dirt yet, as I just drove home from the tire place. I got them used, they only have 5k on them. I am a little pissed because I thought goodyear will give me lifetime balances, but they told me that id have to "talk with the boss" with these tires... huh!?
It kinda sucks, but, they said they had to use 1/2 pound of weights on each tire, and they put them on the outside, instead of the inside. I dont understand why these would be so out of balance, they had only street miles on it. Maybe my rims are bent?

Nope, body lift is still on!
I've already got some thick masking tape to paint the weights. haha. It just started raining, so I guess I'll have to weight (<--ha ha)
37's would be cool, but I think Id even be more worried than I am about CVs and the rack and pinion!

Upon closer inspection...what suspension setup are you running up there? It looks like you've still got your stock IFS brackets still there but a shock/strut attached to a new arm?
Those 35's look bad!

WOW!!!!!! that looks amazing!!! I thought those 285s were a little on the small side!!!
35s are always a little harder to ballance... my 285s took very little weight, but the 36s on my bronco are not ballanceable... 22+oz inside, 22+oz outside on all 4 tires.....
So now I have to say that is one of the best looking 3rd gens forsure!!

They look good. Better fit for your size lift. Are you running a PS cooler? I think the rack can take the weight of you keep it cool.
When I first mounted 35's, I noticed a decrease in gas mileage, increase in breaking distance, the truck felt heavier, but I felt a LOT cooler.

Noones going to believe me, but, I dont feel any difference in power from my 285's. Well...
I had a definite powerloss going from 265s to 285s..but, from 285s to 315s, I havent noticed much. I of course have not gone up a hill on the freeway, so I bet I will get screwed then. Im thinking I'll be cruising in 4th gear on the freeway going 80mph @ 2500 RPM.... I'll hit a hill, switch to 2nd gear and go 30mph... ahha

Yeah. Get about 7 feet of 3/8 hose, some clamps, and a mini radiator from somewhere - Summit has a few good options depending on what you want. Make sure your hose makes very gentle turns to keep the juice flowing.
Not a big job at all.Also, even with 35's, the front drivetrain did well with some fairly challenging wheeling, as long as I was careful with articulating, turning and the locking the front. That IFS is pretty dang strong.
What gears are you running? I am pretty happy with 35's and 4:88 - highway and offroad.
