Milemarker PE8000 on sale - who has one?

This seems to be a good deal with free shipping. Anyone here running one in a TJM with the roller fairlead? I remember reading some mixed reviews on this forum but how bad could it be? I would think $399 is cheap insurance even if you only use it a couple times.

I would get the REW 8000 winch ($289 on sale right now) at Harbor Freight tools. I have a Milemarker E8000 and one of the REW 8000 winches and they are the same exact winch. The Milemarkers are made in China BTW... I guess that having President Clinton in office had ONE good effect... cheap tools from China since he gave them "Most Favored Nation" trading status...

Yes, the milemarker elextric winches are the same as harbor freight. Those are made in china. I'm pretty sure their hydraulic winches are made in the usa.

Other winches to consider:
Warn: The electric standard
Milemarker: The hydraulic standard
Magnum: Manufactured by Warn for private label (less $)
T-Max: The Aussie standard. Made in China, but I've heard good things about them.
Ramsey:
SuperWinch:

If going electric, I would go with Milemarker or Magnum (since it's a Warn). You may also want to add a second battery and maybe upgrade your alternator.
