M/T Classic II photo request
I'm looking at some 16" Mickey Thompson II's with the 3 5/8 back spacing. Wondering if anyone has a photo or can give a review. I would like to see how far the tires are sticking outside the wheel wells and if anyone is having rubbing issues with 285s. Thanks in advance.

Here is a pic of my 4Runner with the wheel you asked about in chrome instead of black like your link. Rubber is 315/75-16 Goodyear MT/R.

Wifes4now - I'm looking for a wider than stock stance.[/quote]
stock backspace is around 5 1/2"
you would be about an 1" wider on each side with the wheels i'm talking about
i have 16x8 with 4" backspace and 1/4" spacers, making a total of 3 3/4"
and my 265s stick out a lot and rub the mudflaps a little bit, with 2" OME Suspension and 2"BL
and i want less, so i can put 285s and be able to stuff them

I'm pretty sure the stock backspacing on my 16x7's is only 4 1/2. So the classic II's I'm looking to get would push the tire out about an inch over the stock wheel. That's my understanding at least. I'm hoping someone with these wheels and 285s will chime in to say whether they stuff or not/rub or not.

if stock backspace on a 7" wheel is 5.5" then the same amount of offset on an 8" wheel would be 5". Remember offset and backspace are different things. Now if you wanted to use a 2" wider tire than stock but want the edge of the tire even with where stock size was, then you have to add that 2" to the factory backspace and then compensate for the new width of the wheel. Meaning with the factory 7" wheel you would have to have a backspace of 3.5". If you want to step up to an 8" wheel then it would need to be 3" backspacing. Where you run into issues is inner fenderwell and suspension/steering clearance of which I cannot speak for.
Now this is just theory, in reality there are variables. Because different manufactures and tire styles have different widths for the same given metric/US sizes. For example: one 33 X 12.50 R15 tire will measure 12" on a 10" wheel and a different brand will measure 11.5" on that same wheel. Then you have the variable if you put the tire on a narrower wheel then factory given specs, ie 33 x 12.5 on an 8" wheel, it will measure narrower and taller than factory given specs. Might be shorter, I forget. But I think you can get the idea.
