lift for prerunner?

When I sell my 85 I was thinking about buying my buddies 99 prerunner.

It already has 3inch body and 2 inch spacerkit with 35s

I was wondering If you could put the 4x4 6inch susp lift on the prerunners?

If you are talking about the Fabtech 6 in lift, I would avoid it, but if you want, i believe it will fit on the preRunner.

I see absolutely No reason though to A) have 35's on a prerunner, B) Lift a 2WD truck 6-9 inches....

Yes, you can lift it, but, the point of the diff-drop lifts are to keep your 4wd at stock angles...

I know of a guy around here who has a big ass pre-runner with a fabtech lift... it looks pretty sweet.

I don't see anything wrong with the fabtech/trailmaster lifts.

Ditch the body lift, Total Chaos and Deaver it, get some SAW's or DH coilovers, some fiberglass fenders and then teach it to fly.

And get pictures.

And then post em.

ABSOLUTELY!! If there was ANYWHERE near here, thats what my PreRunner would do.

I agree, SAS it. lol.

That would be so great, a 2WD, with a SFA... no 3rd member or front driveline, just an axle hanging out there.

I know everyone bashes a lifted 2wd truck. But thats o.k. I don't offroad much and I don't hunt. So a 2wd fits me perfect. But I want it to look good so I lift it and put gear in the rear with wheels and tires.=

No 4x4 to tear up=
a lighter truck=more gas mpg. more power
only have to buy a set of gears for the rear

Nah, we're just playing.
Actually, I am a little envious of the mileage. You get that thing geared right, even running 38's, you'll have better mileage than I do.

Yeah man, I am just joking with ya, my truck is 2WD too. lol. i wheeled it until I bought my '84 trail rig, now I just DD my '04, and wheel the '84.

Somehow I don't see why you would want to lift a truck that hi if your worried about gas milage. Though, something to think about... I wonder how hi you could go w/o the fabtech seeing as he doesn't have CVs to worry about...

It has 3inch body and 2 1/2 inch spacer=5 1/2 inches
I also saw that fabtec makes a 3inch spindle kit for the prerunner that comes with add-a leaf and shackles for rear for around 500.00

that would give me about 8-8 1/2 inches of lift.

He has 15x10 wheels with 35x12.50 m/ts on it now and it only rubs the frame at full turn in the front?

Yeah I wish I could keep my 85 for a trailrig but I have to sell it. I just can't have my cake and eat it too.

The 3 inch spindle kit is for the 2wd trucks, not for the Pre-runners. Pre-runner has the exact body/frame/suspension as the 4x4's. The 2wd are a lot different..

Anyways... When you add the fabtech lift, you can probably put the spacers on top of the elongated strut assembly, and have your body lift, so basically, your looking at a 11.5" lift.. damn !!

The OP is referring to the Tacoma Pre-runner, which was a 2wd truck sitting on the frame and suspension of a 4wd. Essentially, Toyota took the 4wd Tacoma, and removed the 4wd running gear. Many of them came with lockers as well. You get the looks of a 4wd without the weight and lower mileage.

The 2wd Tacomas do not share the same suspension parts as the Prerunner Tacomas.

thanks for the pre-runner info as i dont know much about them.. but i do think the trd pre-runners came with lockers.. well ive seen a few anyway.. imagine an open diff 2wd on anything but pavement.. id cry

i was also searching the web earlier and found that trailmaster makes a 2inch lift spring?
Would this slide in without any other modification?
