Lettering on tires
I ran a search but couldn't find it but someone not long ago suggested a easy way to remove the blue off the lettering on tires. Does anybody remember that conversation or know a easy way(other than scrubbing) to get that crap off?

I would go to the grocery store and buy some Grease Lightning. Spray it on there and leave it for a minute or two then take a brush and it should come right off without much scrubbing. That's what I did for my tires when they were new.

You can just use a scrub brush and some Purple Power (or other cleaning agent) to get the blue protective coating off the letters. It really shouldn't take much effort to do it. Also, use plent of water while you are doing it.

Use AJAX and a scrub brush with lots of H20! It's cheap and it will clean those letters so white you can see yourself in them, well they will glow in the dark, well they will be really, really white like my

Nice Bluewalls Clark...LOL!!!! Seriously I have been using Westleys Bleach White for years and I have not found anything that works better for cleaning tires...well I haven't really tried anything else. Good luck!!!

Also back in the day when I ran the white lettering out on my old 92 Toy PU, I used Brillo pads to keep them nice and white. It was also very easy and cheap, without much scrubbing at all.

Westleys Bleach White
thats what I've always used, works great, just don't get it on the wheels, esp polished aluminum wheels
Be sure to use it on the entire tire every now and then, you'll be surprised how dirty they get, especailly if you take it off road
