Idle speed drops...
A while ago I was having problems with my 92 idling extremely low (250ish). A few days after this began, the engine would simply cut off if out of gear. To remedy this, I turned the idle screw on top of the engine. This seemed to get the idle up to the 500-600 range and I was satisfied. However, since then (about two weeks), it has dropped down to 400 at times and I am afraid that it will keep slipping. Any suggestions? Should I just keep opening up that idle screw or is there something else timing related that's going on here?
Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Corey,
Thanks for the response. I should have added that I checked the throttly body, and to the untrained eye (mine), I didn't see any filth. There was no dirt or gunk at all in there.

rpeAMP,
A buddy of mine was having the same problem with his Toyota pickup with the 22RE engine. He kept adjusting the idle screw only to have to readjust a week later due to the same problem. The dealership finally determined that the problem was a rubber grommet or washer that keeps the idle screw in a set position. Apparently, the washer had completely deteriorated and the screw would slowly vibrate out of position causing the idle speed to get slower and slower. He hasnt had any problems since they replaced the washer.
