Just had my fuel injectors in my 3.0L engine flowtested and ultrasounded and rebuilt. Flow was 35 to 40 before, now its 50 to 55 across the board, BUT there was 1 bad injector. Where can I get one quick without having to go the dealer route? I already replaced one that I was told last spring that was bad and kept spewing gas all over the engine to the tune of 190.00 I dont want to spend that much. I noticed that RC Engeneering and DOA has kits, but do they sell individual injectors?

When I had mine ultrasounded fall of 2000, the flow was bad in a few.

You can see the final results are 46 all the way across.
Yours are doing better than mine.

I'd try a junk yard that has a Toy with a V6 in it and see if you can grab all of the injectors, or just a few.

Chances are they are good, and you can get it cleaned and put in your rig.

What does ultrasounding do for the injectors and how much did it cost? Did you notice a benifit afterwords? Is this something that I should look to the dealer for?

It is the best way to clean them.
They get pulled out, inspected, and ultrasound cleansed with a solution.

Sure makes the engine purr though

What you can do is use the Snap On Motor Vac system.
Ask Gadget about it.

Your engine gets the fuel line disco'd, and they run your engine on a solution that cleans your fuel rails and gets rid of the carbon deposits in the upper combustion chamber.

Runs about $125 most shops.
I am due for it, but have not ever had it done yet since the ultrasound.

The reason I did mine is 1: I still feel a surging feeling when throttle is held steady, very noticable in 3rd gear(automatic but not in overdrive) at about 3000 rpm. 2: the topend of the engine is apart again (long story, read my other posts) so I decided that since I was this far into it again, I would have them done because the first time I did not have them cleaned and curiosity was killing me. Since they were already out at no cost to me, another shop would flow them, put them into the ultrasound cleaning tank, rebuild them and flow them again. The ultrasound is just like a jewelry cleaner. Its a tank of a liquid, drop the parts in and a machine will run ultrasonic (above human hearing I think) soundwaves through it to vibrate the parts. Cost me 85 bucks for the flow testing, cleaning, rebuilding and flowing again of all 6 injectors. They installed all new rubber o rings and found the one injector to be bad.

RC they do the t-body overbore and injectors for Downey and DOA, they did a great job and professional, but I have a friend who used C&C and said they were great, I have spoke with C&C and they guy was way cool too so...

both seem to be in the $30 to $40 per injector range for clean and balance.
either shop may sell you a cleaned single injector..
