lol, the back side just looks nasty.... yea the bike tube is to deflect water away, i couldnt stretch it enough over the plug to make a complete seal. before the retro, i wasn't running any water shields or anything (i was using casper shields)...

what does water shields have to do with casper shields? anyway nice install, and like others stated, gets rid of the bigeye look problem. just wondering though, with the projejctor that far back in the housing, do you get light scatter creating glare in weird places? i would imagine that having it that far back, some light w ould hit the reflectors and cause it to go all over the place. ...

the water shields dont fit over certain hid connectors when using a caspershield to adapt the stock housing to fit an hid bulb. i could have modified my watershields to fit over the hid connector, but i didnt want to mess with my oem parts in case id have to do safety check (for those that dont know, its a Hawaii thing). that would explain why i wasnt using the watersheild rather than have people think that i just thought id run halogens with no water protection.
and just for the record, i think caspershields dont work very well, it may look better on other vehicles, but i think its just unacceptable on the 4runner headlight both 96-98 and 99+ styles.
there is very small reflection because i forgot to cover some holes that surround the projector. you cant even see it in the beam pics, and it isnt enough light to create any kind of eye piercing glare. the housing can always be painted, but i didnt think that it would match the color scheme of my truck...
