home brewed Cat back exhaust

Hi everyone I have an 1989 3.0L truck with 410,560km's on it and the tail pipe just rusted off so I thought it would be the perfect time to upgrade.Iam wondering what size of stainless pipe to use 2.25" or 2.5" I will be using a magnaflow muffler and I can get either size muffler. So what do you think...

I would go with 2.25, not 2.5, it may only be 1/4 inch but that much more would affect it alot more than you think. The flow would be too much and you would probably lose low end power...Now on the other hand if you had some forced induction 2.5 or 3 inch would be sufficient!
