HELP, shock brokE, ASAP!!

Today I was driving to school and it felt like i went over like a big rock or something. I got out and relized that my shock had some how broken off the frame and then caught on the payment and now it is under my back axle. I think it broke off because my frame is rusted. But when i bought the truck the frame had just been fixed by a local shop and the rest of the frame is good. I dont know if they would normally would reinforce the part where the shock is attached to the frame. What should I do to fix this, and will it be ok to drive to and from school with the back shock not attached at all? It is completly flat where I drive so i think it should be ok but im not 100% sure. Any help would be great.

The shock will only absorb any bumps you go over, so it's fine to drive it back home.
