Help getting trac bar re-installed after 2" lift

I just installed the fabtech 2" rear coil lift on my '02 4Runner. Everything went fine except I can't get the bolt back into the frame mount for the trac bar. Is there a trick to is? I've tried lowering it, raising it etc....

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

have someone sit on the rear bumper while you try to put the bolt back in. You might have to have them jump/push up and down on the bumper to get it to line up again.

You can't get it back on because the bar is now too short. It's a trigonometry thing, when you lengthen one side of a triangle you have to lengthen one of the other sides. If you use the original bar your axle will be off centre.
You need one of these

I do agree with eric-the-redon getting the adjustable but if you really want to get the stock one back on try a big flathead screwdrive and start prying. It worked on my friends 90 4runner b/c he didn't want to get a new trac bar. So far everything has held up!

Why did you remove it? I didn't need to remove my panhard bar.

But, like spdjnky said, I'd recommend the strong screwdriver trick to line up the holes, then hammer in the bolt.

If you can get someone or two to stand on the bumper it should work.

I have about the same amount of lift and I reinstalled mine before I put the tires back on by jacking up that side of the axle until it lined up.

You can try using one of those motorcycle tie down ratchet straps to pull the axle over, then slide the bolt in...worked for me.

x2
We tried a ratchet strap and broke it, but then used a come along to pull the axle toward the passenger side and that did the trick. I later realized that If I would have used my brain and disconnected the sway bar then I wouldn't have had to disconnect the trac bar anyways. Oh well, If I didn't mess up myself then I wouldn't be able to help you!

Little old, but when i put my cruiser coils in my 2nd gen(should be simmiliar), long story short we ended up disconnecting the panhard bar, with no help getting the springs in but i was trying to make a point to my cousin.

Getting it back on was fun , maybe not the safest way but it worked good!

Ended up taking out my tow strap, connecting it to my tow hitch, and had my cousin pull it to the side slightly with his truck. THis made it go on easy!

Anywho, now i need to buy a bracket to extend it cause the drivshaft hits the gas tank during axle travel.

Maybe that will help someone out in the future, just thought i would throw it out there.

I just put my axle on jack stands and lowered the lift until it went in.
