Also, on the switch, there are three prongs, Top one is Earth, Middle is Supply, and Bottom is Load. Im positive the Earth is Ground, but does the supply go to the relay or does the load go to the relay?

Also, on the Hella schematic, there is a wire that taps the High Beams, can I just connect that to the cigarette lighter wire (I think its pink) so I can have the lights on whenever the ignition is on? I think the cigarette lighter is only on when the ignition is on...If not, what shoudl I tap to?

Hello, please see the Tech section, as I have an article in there on how to wire up the 500s, and any type of driving/fog lamp.

You do not need to use the Hella switch either.
I have the 500 scanned info in there too, but there are other options as listed in my article on how to wire them up.

Thanks...
Instead of tapping the cigg wire, you can tap a fuse in the incab fusebox.
Better yet is to install an underhood aux. fusebox.
https://www.yotatech.com/~corey/tech..._box/corey.htm

Before my fusebox mod, I had several wires tapped in the incab fuxebox.
All ya gotta do is find a fuse that is hot all the time, and slip your wire under there that energizes the switch.

Legality, call your local State Troopers office. Yankees...:pat:

Wiring, Hella lights have been wired up here TONS in lots of different ways. Hella also has pretty good instructions on their website if you don't have any with the Hellas you bought.

I did a little research when I wanted to add auxiliary lighting to my truck. Down here, at least, it depends on what kind of lights, how you use them, and where mounted. "Fog lights" put out a horizontal beam and are meant to be mounted as low as possible and aimed low. They can be used any time. "Driving lights" that put out a broader and higher light and are ultra bright are meant to be used only in conjunction with high beams. Here, at least, they must also be mounted low. Any high mounts like roof or roll bar are not legal for on road use, and must be covered when you drive on road. Hope that helps, but you can always ax your local law enforcement folks.
