Headers fitment with body lift?

Has anyone installed headers on a 3.4 with a body lift? I was going to go with Downey, but they're telling me the pipes will run into the steering rag joint because of the lift (1.5" Roger Brown)

Anybody know if the TRD set has this issue?

I'm in the middle of a head rebuild and wanted to upgrade while I have everything torn apart, but this just put me back to square one.

Thanks in advance!
E

I may be wrong but I seriously doubt that there would be any interference with the rag joint as it's position stays the same relative to the headers regardless of having a BL or not. The only thing that changes with the BL is the addition of a steering shaft extension which may be the issue here.

From what I remember, the TRD header crossover pipe runs over the bell housing so it's nowhere near the rag joint. Not sure how the Downey crossover pipe goes though, it may go underneath the bellhousing which may interfere with the rag joint somehow. Hopefully someone with first hand knowledge can help you out.

Thanks for the post Swede,
Due to the crickets in this post, I'll presume most people haven't dealt with this yet, so I'll post back what I find out.

Right now I'm trying to get in touch with the Doug Thorley folks, but can't get them to call me back. I've called a bunch of times and it sounds like they only have two reps, who always seem to be on the phones, and my voicemails have gone unanswered. Has anyone else had an issue with Doug Thorley's service? It shouldn't be this hard to get a question answered when you're ready and willing to drop a bunch of cash on a product.

As a side note, I noticed you're in Prince Rupert. I'm getting off a cruise ship there in early Sept. Know anything about fishing the Skeena for coho and steelhead? (I figured I started this thread so I can half hi-jack it!)

Have you tried contacting Roger Brown? He will probably have your answer.

That's a great suggestion toyvana, I'll try that route as well.

I also just got off the phone w/ URD as that's where the folks at DT directed me to purchase. The headers should be here next week, so if nothing else, I'll be able to just try it for myself while I'm putting the heads back on.
