Head work worth it?
Hey I'm wondering if getting the head on the 22re ported and bigger valves installed is worth it. I mean...i know it's worth it but how much of a difference would i notice? I'm putting a TRD level 2 cam in so the heads coming off either way. There arent any good machine shops around here that do any good head work (heh good head) but I looked on ebay and saw a couple "High performance" heads with a cam already installed...any word on how trusting those companies are?

I would highly suggest using engbldr.com i got mine done from them and there 270 cam and noticed a difference in just the downey cam alone. all for around $400. I don't use ebay for mechanical stuff. engbldr they are the best as far as product and customer service and price. they are in portland OR. but worth the price of shipping.
